So tonight, for no real reason, my phone just decided to break in half. I picked it up and the screen popped right off the keyboard part. Bam, phone dead.

Luckily, my phone is qualified for an upgrade. It’s my birthday soon, and I had always assumed that I wanted an iPhone (4) from the parents. But then I thought I’d try to be all diplomatic and check out what my other options are, and I found out that I can get a little Palm Pixi Plus for FREE. It has internet with flash, gmail, gtalk, gps, facebook, lots of other apps, a (simple) camera, a touch screen AND a keyboard, and for free.

I am thinking that those are the only things that I really wanted to use on the iPhone anyway! (Am I REALLY going to video chat on my phone, REALLY? Let’s be real).

But then I may feel like I made the wrong decision if I go with the free thing? That may just be the consumer monster talking.

I already have a MacBook and my iPod, it only feels natural to want the iPhone, too. But then Ash said…. “that’s how they want you to feel.” There is truth to that!

I’ll feel overindulged with the iPhone 4, or unfulfilled with the Palm Pixi Plus. I guess the real question is, if I don’t want the iPhone for my birthday, what do I want? Kingsley does need a new everyday bag. And a new pair of shoes (or two). Probably should just go with cold, hard cash to support my NY move and inevitable period of joblessness.

And in the meantime I am phoneless, feeling like I have to make the decision now. BUT OH WAIT I can only think of three people that call me on a regular basis, and two of them are my parents.

THIS COULDN’T BE LESS IMPORTANT
